There are so many multilingual videos out there on You Tube that I decided to present may language learning experiences in all of my 8 languages. You will notice that I had some language interference when I switched from Italian to Esperanto (which is a difficult combination!), but the rest is on my levels.
Have fun!

BRAZILIAN POLYGLOT JIMMY MELLO INTERVIEWS FASULYE
There is a written interview with me by the Brazilian polyglot Jimmy Mello on his blogwebsite. He owns a language school and especially asked me to give some language learning advice to people of an advanced age because they tend to give up easily. Or they don't even want to start learning a language because they find themselves too old. The interview will later on be translated into Portuguese.
Jimmy interviews Fasulye: Learning Languages is her life-long project
Enjoy!

I am glad you liked the interview and one of my intentions to give such an interview was to have the possibility to inspire other language learners.
Welcome back here on HTLAL!

Interesting that you are from Schleswig-Holstein Fasulye. I'm currently reading Fontane's
"Unwiederbringlich", which is set partly there (in a fictitious place, probably near
GlĂĽcksburg), and partly in Copenhagen, in 1859-1861, which I gather was a tricky time in
German-Danish politics/relations.
I'm biased I suppose but I also think that age shouldn't be a barrier to almost any
learning activity, not just languages. Perhaps activities that demand extremes of fitness
are an exception, but even there we can often achieve more than we think we can.

Interesting interview, Fasulye, but one little comment:
You said the "international" language courses like Pimsleur, Teach Yourself, Colloquial, and so on were not available in Germany. Well, that's not true. You can order them (like any other English book) via Amazon.de. I don't know if you're interested in them or if you rather prefer German textbooks, but it's definitely possible to buy them here.

Thanks for this advice, Josquin. I am used to buying my language resources in my local bookstores, so I am not an online purchaser. But it's good to know that just in case I would have the possibility to order them via Amazon.de. This is what also Mae says in her comment on the website of the interview.

Fasulye, that was definitely an excellent interview. I hope you continue inspiring others to learn foreign
languages, at no matter what age.
