Overall I think this week has gone well.
After a poor showing with watching drama last week, I've managed to get back on target (although not
much further than the target). I think I'm going to have to step up the video watching in a few months
time, but at the moment I think it's OK to keep it ticking over like this.
I'm keeping going with the grammar, so I should be able to meet this month's target. The shadowing is
a bit more problematic. I would normally have enough time to get it done over the next few days, but I
know there are non-language things I have to attend to, so getting those last few lessons done may
prove to be a problem.
I've been doing plenty of reading, so much so that I even let Anki slip for a few days. I'm mostly
caught up now (with Kanji and Sentences, but not with Vocabulary). RTK is up to date.

Over the past two weeks I've been able to find more time for reading without losing much time elsewhere.
I've managed to wake up a little earlier in the mornings and, mostly, I've used that extra time for reading.
In addition I've been getting through the grammar and it feels like I'm making headway. I don't know if
that's because I'm going through much of this stuff for the second time or because I'm seeing recognisable
grammar in the words that I'm reading. Either way, it seems to be sinking in more deeply now.
I've managed to activate 225 sentences in Anki last week alone: that's much easier than activating 225 new
words as the sentences usually come from JPOD101 (because copy-and-paste is much quicker than typing
from a textbook) and generally the new ones have been from one of the intermediate courses, so they
concentrate on new grammar rather than being vocab-heavy.

I'm now re-reading 嫌われ松子の一生 (上) and so far I'm managing to understand more than I
did last time. I still have the problem that by the time I read sentence 3 I've
forgotten what happened in sentence 1, but hopefully that will clear up with time.
I managed to get a reasonable amount of grammar in this week and now I've completed as
far as 新完全マスター N2 文法 Chapter 20.
I've pushed hard with activating new entries in my Sentence deck, 400 new ones this
month so far. I'll probably switch to activating entries in the Kanji deck next.

Looking back over these two weeks I see lots of reading and probably too little watching drama.
I've tried to spend some time with 新完全マスター N2 読解 but I've only had a very little study time
that wasn't already allocated elsewhere.
I've managed to keep my Anki decks under control, but RTK has slipped a little in the last of
these two weeks.
Now that I won't be sitting JLPT N2 until December, I have more time to get the grammar under
control so I'm not going to focus on that so much any more. I'll be setting lower goals for it in
the monthly targets, although I won't ignore it altogether.

Yeah, we use 完全マスター文法 in our class, so I know that one pretty well. The book store didn't have the 読解 one so I'm on the n2 スピードマスター version. Trying to squeeze in some time on this before December.

At what sort of pace did you go through the 文法 book? I found for N3 that I need one pass
(skipping the exercises) to give me an idea of the "lay of the land", followed by another pass
(doing the exercises) to make some of it stick.

In the class we do two chapters a week. For me it's a pretty fast pace because there's other readings and stuff we do also. Some of these things are pretty subtle, and for me, I'll think I understand, but then if I try using I find, oops, I don't really. This class runs the last 6 months of the year from June to December. I've been all the way through this book twice (or is it 3 times? I've lost track), I think, so maybe it's just about starting to sink in. Some of the exercises are still tricky for me.

That's definitely a fast pace. I've been through the first 26 chapters and now there's
what almost amounts to a revision section (A-G). After that it looks like nearly 60 more
pages of new stuff. This book really does pack a lot of stuff in there!
