Would be interesting to know what percentage of people learning a Scandinavian language either already know German, or are learning it.
(EDIT): This poll is addressed to the group of foreign language learners of Scandinavian languages and foreign language learners of German or people who have not learned German as a foreign language.

There was no space for native speakers of German, so I cast my vote for "I've already learnt German".

Not sure if I should pick 1 or 2, it depends on what you mean by "I’ve already learnt German". I had been learning German for years before I took up Norwegian (I'd say I was around B1), but I'm far from satisfied with my present level, so I am learning them both right now.

I find the wording of the question a little vague. What counts as 'having learnt German'? I learned German and Swedish in school starting in the 3rd grade and the 7th grade, respectively. Coming out of high school I was better at German, but my Swedish has improved considerably since then, and is now the stronger language for me. While I speak both passably well, I don't consider myself fluent in either.
I ended up answering (1), though in retrospect it would probably be more accurate to say I learned the two in tandem.

I chose the second option but I was learning German for years before starting anything Scandinavian.

I am a learner of Danish, a native speaker of German and I also speak Dutch on a native level.
There is no option for German as a native language to choose, so I voted for the first option.
(EDIT) Sorry, I didn't know that I don't belong to the target group of this poll.
