Right now German is but a cage which doesn't let me speak out everything I have on my mind.

Es macht mich voellig krank!

I am still trying to immerse myself in German by chatting, listening to music and thinking, but the frustration from not being able to do much out of it stands still.
Well, I think I can come up with a plan when I'll be less busy, but right now even Duolingo seems like a nightmare.
Also we all know I am not good at dealing with plans...

But at least I get to be a bit more sure about my English through making a presentation (bilingual, but orginially in English in my case) and watching F1 on SkySports F1.

An interesting thing has happened yesterday. While I was skyping I was asked to talk in English in case German isn't enough. The feeling of being limited by my own weak knowledge hasn't gone anywhere and I was glad to be offered to try
to fix the situation somehow. But I couldn't say anything proper in English. All my thoughts were in German, I just couldn't keep up saying stuff in English.
Well, there might be some personal issues involved, but I had no idea things could get so serious. I have a lot of small mistakes in German (always mix up verb forms, for example), when I don't know a word I either gesture or say in it
English, but overall, no matter how tiring this is, I blab in German. Why?..

Need. More. German.
(yes, even more)

Today I am going to blab about a Russian genius, the inventor of octane gasoline (as inscripted on his gravestone) Vladimir Ipatieff in English.
Quite ironic, considering that he couldn't speak English until he was 64.
Anyway, this presentation is written in relatively simple English, I shouldn't really have any troubles speaking except for my nerves, which spoil my pronunciation - and it's not good enough even without that.

Trilingual Madness. Real one, rhymed...

the bed was cold, the night was dark
dein Duft war überall, so sehr stark und rein
но приоткрыла я окно осторожно
the smell was gone without a trace, a mark
das Fenster lud den Wind des Nordens ein
не знала я, что такое вообще возможно

and then I have remembered yet again
du warst doch nie hier, natürlich, ja!
и стало страшно очень так
I wanted to go and catch a train
um zu dir zu kommen. tja,
такое сделать трудно, не попав впросак

and one thing more was on my mind
es ist doch nicht genug. Ach, mein Feind
стоит недалеко. Ведь он есть я!
I look again, there's no way out
der Feuer isst mein ganzer Haut
и нет теперь ни врага, ни меня

die Luft war kalt aber voller Gas
a spark became a fire very fast
и все было кончено для нас
oh ja! ich war da nicht allein
for all my dreams were only mine
и все умерли с мной, канув в реку тайн

and du один immer know меня
я war a light твоих nights in Dunkelheit
die Leidenschaft were сильна, but я была schwach in mir
ich bin your light, твоя мечта, aber du был never here

THis is against the rules, but I am rolling in 6WC with German again. I have absolutely no motivation for any other language, and the one for German is getting weak again.

An experimental May challenge for Rätsel is all about consistency and whether I can read a chapter of a book in German and make something with Duolingo every day. I blatantly use 6WC as additional motivation.

I have written an entry on lang-8 yesterday, and all the stupid mistakes are still there. I like (= hate) one type of them the most - when I write some "smartass" sentence and the corrector doesn't even understand what it's about. Eh.

A book I've picked is Stephen King's The Stand. I'm not a fan of him, but I haven't given him a proper
chance either. I found this book quite accidentally, liked the summary and got a German translation. I also
have the original, in case I won't be able to continue.
I've read the prologue yesterday, the first chapter today, and so far it's been better than I've expected. I
even want to read more, but I better pick the other book for that. I don't look up the words I don't know at
all, I lose much, but still can follow the plot. Or at least I think I can.
I can't say that I don't look up the words deliberately. The app I use as a dictionary allows me to have
only two language packs, and they're filled with Russian and English. I also have a wonderful German-
English dictionary, but its free version doesn't allow me to find a word without typing it in the search bar,
and I don't want to do that for all the words I don't know. There are just too much of them
Anyway, in case The Stand gets too hard I'll try to also read it in English before or after German. In case
this doesn't work out either or the book is just bloody boring I'll pick another one.
