Hello everyone,
I think it's time I introduce myself here. I've always intended to work toward multilingualism, but until June of last year, it was not something I seriously invested in. I had a realisation at that time, that the only way such a goal can ever be accomplished, is if I start working on it with reasonable consistency. So I've done that, choosing German as my first language for serious study, now being about A2 (I think). I say German is the first serious effort, because I had dabbled years before in Spanish and Japanese. However, as I did not sufficiently commit myself to either, I never got anywhere of note. I plan to return to these in time, but I won't be starting another language until I have (at least) passed the Goethe B2 exam for German. I've joined the 6WC, and will also soon start a log of my activity. My goal for this year is to reach B1, and pass the exam for it, hopefully by the end of the summer. I am grateful to have found this forum, as it has been a godsend, with so much helpful advice and feedback on the many potential learning resources and techniques. Oh, and I'm also on various other sites like Lang-8 and Duolingo, with the same username. 1 person has voted this message useful | |
