Hi everyone,
I'm looking for Italian podcast to listen to on my smartphone, so only to listen to, not
a video, and I am looking for something not requiring Itunes. I'm also looking for B1-
level materials. Does anyone know where to find that?
Thanks in advance

What's your smartphone's OS?
Check out: Radio24 and Digitalia. Those are the only ones that I listen.

My smartphone is on android, it's an acer. I have tried to find podcast on the android
market but couldn't find anything...
I have checked your websites, but Radio24 is very quick I think, and I would actually
rather find something that I could put on my phone and listen to while walking, something
that doesn't require any internet connection and that would be in MP3 format. The best
would be +- 10-min files

Not all the podcasts are short. They range from 5 minutes to 01:30 hour. You can also listen to the podcasts online or you can download them.
Here is a download link for the Android app:

Try the alternative markets maybe? Mind you, I've only used them for downloading popular apps on my Cowon mp3 player. But there must be some hidden gems out there.

I've seen this discussion now, I hope it's not too late to answer.
I'm Italian, you can find podcasts of radio rock fm (now it's close, but we recorded and shared many months of transmissions to have a sort of 'memory project') on archive.org (all the material on that site doesn't have copyright).
I suggest you to search for 'Early bird special' and 'Pane Burro & Rock n Roll', they both have music but they don't speak too fast (especially in the first transmission) and they're quite funny. (I find radio24 really boring, it's all about economy...)
Here I give you a couple of links, I hope they'll be useful:

Check the RAI website. They have a lot of free potcasts you can subscribe to via RSS. For example I listen to Digitalia and "Lezioni de musica."
