I've just 60 pages left of 東아시아의 戰爭과 平和 1 by 李三星, to be followed by vol. 2 - and vol. 3 when it's released.
After that, perhaps: 朱子學과 陽明學 by 島田虔次 (Kenji Shimada) or 太極解義 by 朱熹.

I'm halfway through "Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban" (german), but i just found "Der Kleine Hobbit" by Tolkien at a bookstore yesterday, so I've read a little bit of that too. Since most of my German reading experience has been Harry Potter, it's so refreshing to see the completely different writing style in this Tolkien translation.
Next on my list after that is Der Schwarm by Frank Schätzing. I've already read the English translation, so i'm looking forward to reading the original. Apparently the movie is currently in production, to be released in 2011.

Almost finished reading "Der Vorleser" by Bernhard Schlink. It's a pretty good read, consistently interesting but quite short. Should finish it in the next couple of days (I'm a super slow reader...).

I'm reading the mystery novel 小豆色のテーブル by Jiro Akagawa. It's the tenth book in the series.

I'm reading "Der Vorleser" as well.. it's my first major novel in German, so the going is
tough. I am captivated by the story and the writing, however.

I just read the short story "Merkwuerdige Nachricht von einem andern Stern," by Hermann Hesse, which means I'm about halfway through a book of his collected tales called Die Maerchen (Suhrkamp, 1975). The story, written in 1915, was a simple, powerful anti-war fairy tale about a young man who is flown by a bird from his own peaceful kingdom to a violent place resembling our own planet. After returning home and making his report, he isn't clear whether or not he merely dreamed the entire episode, so odd it seems to him and his people.
