FRANÇAIS:
I've completed the first 3 lessons and half of the 4th already from O Novo Francês Sem Esforço. As far as I know, the French text is exactly the same as the one from "French With Ease", only the notes and translations change, which is good! The book is very good, until now I have no problem whatsover with the language, since it's very close to Portuguese and Italian. My only "attention" point is at the construction "Est-ce que..." to make a question. I'd never seen it before and it's taking some time to "sink in". I understand it, but I still can't see myself using it in real life, so I'll probably just redo the lesson a couple times and try to "insert" this construction in my daily life. So far, so good! =) РУССКИЙ: I'm on lesson 61 now. Not a lot of progress, I know...I must try to do at least a little everyday. Also, some words are just too long and too hard for me to retain, for example "разочарование", "недоразумение". What is it with Russian and long words? Already on lesson 8! After 3 lessons with that word, I'll never forget "beurre" or "beurré". The first revision lesson (7th as every Assimil course I guess) was very easy, I guess my main problem now is regarding the French diacritic signs. We have it in Portuguese as well, but we use it to mark the tonic syllable of the word (therefore, 1 sign at maximum), but in French they just put it anywhere! Ahahaha Also, I'm not following my usual method of copying every lesson to my paper notebook. That way, I'm progressing REALLY faster, but I'll probably retain less information and vocabulary. Diacritics usually indicate pronunciation. Unless they're a circonflex, then they

Do not worry about your French, it will be a breeze!
I am struggling with the long Russian words too, but being Norwegian and having words like "høyesterettsjustitiarius" - 24 letters- or "angstskrik" -7 consonants in a row - in my own language, I cannot really complain about other languages. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Fabrício, que edição do (Novo) Francês sem custo/esforço você tá usando? Eu tenho aqui um 'O francês sem esforço' de 1972, do Chérel. Começa por:
Bon voyage! 1 - Nous partons pour la France ... Eu vou começar mês que vem (se não ficar de exame), seria legal se os brasileiros (tem mais alguém, eu acho) usassem a mesma versão, pra comparar hahaha. Será que é muito antiga? Todo mundo aqui fala bem dos "without toil" da vida. Mas enfim... essa versão que eu tenho parece muito boa (140 lições!), apesar do português ser meio antiquado, tem coisas tipo "tornar-se-á". 1 person has voted this message useful |
