At the age of 15, I don't really see anybody my age learning languages unless I am
watching youtube videos. It is quite upsetting to be the only person in my school who is
interested in this dying hobby/obsession.
Is everyone else the same; does anyone else not have any "polyglot pals"?

I am 16. I study lots of languages. No one else in my school or anyone I know for that
matter can speak more than two languages well or cares to learn any others. Don't feel
bad your the only one though. That's why the internet is here!

Language learning is not a dying hobby; it's a fairly common one (more so in some regions than in others), as well as a multi-billion-dollar industry.
As an adult, it's easy to hang around with other people into languages if you want to. While you're in high school, it's a bit more luck of the draw, unfortunately.
For now, you have the internet; in a few years, there's nothing stopping you from surrounding yourself with polyglots your own age.

It might feel lonely now, but in a few years I think you'll be very happy you started so early in life. I wish I would have!

I'm 17 and have been studying languages on my own since I was 12. I have a few friends who are interested in languages as well, but not to the same extent.

obsession as I am.

I'd argue otherwise. I know a bunch of bilingual people, and a few trilinguals, under the age of 20. Can't claim I'm among them, but I probably will be before age 16.

Bilingual and trilingual, sure, but it's much more likely due to circumstance than interest.
