Borgen's Birgitte Hjort Sørensen on BBC Radio 4 in an interview with Jenni Murray
Birgitte Hjort Sørensen Birgitte Hjort Sørensen played the part of Katrine Fonsmark, the journalist, turned spin-doctor, in Borgen. She is in London playing in a production of Coriolanus (in English). Her British-style English accent is well-nigh faultless, although she said she has had the help of a voice coach for the play. She stumbled over one word, but I think that was a slip of the tongue more than anything. Otherwise, I didn't hear her put a foot wrong. She attributes her good English to watching a lot of English-language films and TV from an early age, together with an interest in languages. I'd say her English comes over rather better than that of Sidse Babett Knudsen (who played the Prime Minister in the first two series), to the extent that I have heard the latter. 1 person has voted this message useful | |
