I was just thinking about adding a song(s) of the week section to my log before I saw
this.
1) Name/username: TimmyTurner93 (Timmy Turner Al-Britani on
spotify/lyricstraining [through facebook] & timmy_turner93 on last.fm)
2) Do you count weeks starting from Monday or Sunday? Monday
3) Personal definitions, restrictions, challenges: Primarily Brazilian Portuguese
songs but will throw the occasional Japanese song in as well.
4) Favourite music genres: I enjoy all genres but I tend to gravitate towards
something with a high tempo

Aw hellz yeah!
Name/username Jeffers
Do you count weeks starting from Monday or Sunday? Personally Sunday, but since this starts today... I'll happily stick to Monday.
Preferred challenge type (optional) Mainly albums (because if I listen to Paris Chanson I'm hearing dozens of singles every day).
Personal definitions, restrictions, challenges I will try to listen to an album at least 4 times over the course of the week.
Favourite music genres (optional) Rock, jazz, "world" (an odd genre for an language challenge!), Bollywood, chanson/variété française
A couple quick questions:
Do you just have to listen to it once?
Can I count an album I bought and listened to last night? I'll listen to it again several times this week.

Yes, you can count everything from January 4th :) and yeah, the minimum is just listening once. So you've already completed this week's challenge, haha.

Do any of these resources have a way to search for songs by language?

Lyricstraining does :D And the wikia has a list of artists by language.
I don't know about spotify as I'm not a user (and it's not even available here anyway).

Great idea and I'm in! -- although I may have to start nex Sunday.

Do you count weeks starting from Monday or Sunday? Sunday
Preferred challenge type (optional)
Personal definitions, restrictions, challenges
Favourite music genres (optional) Classic Rock, Smooth Jazz, French music (variety), Latin American
Music
A few questions: I listened to ~ 1/3 of Latin Music Playlist on YouTube -- approximately 7 songs of 23 (to
satisfy some wanderlust). Is the "album" in this case all 23 songs? Also, I also listened to 4 Latin American
songs on a playlist of Spotify. Not sure how to count, as I just jumped in on Wednesday. Here is Youtube Link
for classic Latin American Music that I listened to:
Classic Latin Music
PS. I hope others will consider sharing what they are listening to! I would love to expand my "world music"
repertoire.

I've completed this week's challenge (please mention it in Wikia if necessary).
I listen to truly big amounts of Dornenreich, and knowing this won't last forever I have stumbled in a recommendation in their last.fm shoutbox.
Band: Munarheim
Album: Nacht Und Stürme Werden Licht
Album's length is around 48 munutes, one song (of 13) is definitely English, but even without it I got over 40 minutes :)
So... the band isn't very famous I think (surely not that famous as Dornenreich), and even though some parts of this album do resemble them a bit, I can't really say that they play in the same field. It's hard for me to mark albums having listened just once, the best I can do
is to think whether I am going to listen again or not. And I am definitely going to listen again. Harsh male vocals sometimes changed by normal ones, music in different temps... I don't think this band presents something particularly new, but I've never cared much about that.
Genres: version one: Melodic Black\Dark\Folk
version two: Folk Metal, Sympho Black
version three: pagan metal, folk metal
