So I've finally decided to learn Japanese. I should probably start with something easier, but I'm really interested in this language and I think this would make me more willing to learn it than any other language. I hope to learn it to native fluency, to be able to read, write, watch shows and understand them.
Unfortunately, school will be starting in about a week and I'll have no choice but to use English there, but I've tried my best to create an immersion environment at home. I listen to nothing but Japanese music all day, watch Japanese shows/movies, and my browser is in Japanese, though there are some things I can't change such as my OS.
I bought "Remembering the Kanji" two days ago. So far I've done 75 kanji, doing 25 per day and using Mnemosyne.
I won't be updating this everyday, probably every week or so, but hopefully seeing my progress will help motivate me and make me continue my studies.

Thanks!
I've done 200 kanji so far and I remember about 90+% of them so I'm quite pleased with my progress. I think some of the kanji are a bit hard to remember, but I'm working on that with Mnemosyne.
I've also gotten quite used to seeing Japanese all the time even though I don't know how to read it yet. Gmail in English looks a bit strange to me now, heh...It's too bad school starts tomorrow.

I'm up to 400 kanji now. I'm finding it a little hard to remember some of the recent ones I learned. For some reason I forget some of the stories.
I've written some kanji and put them in my folder so I can look at them when I'm in school. I've also got some on my wall.

How are you doing outside of kanji, if you don't mind me asking? :)

I'm only focusing on kanji right now, so until I finish I'm not doing too much outside of it. Besides kanji I'm really only listening to/watching a lot of Japanese things.

I'm up to 635 kanji now. I've decided to bring the book to school since I have free time and I always find myself getting bored. I usually don't take notes but when I did, I took some parts of it in kanji. I also found some new Japanese songs to listen to last night to keep myself motivated.
