Does anybody know where I might find a decent selection of ebooks in Norwegian?
I'm interested in trying to get Jo Nesbø, Karin Fossum or Anne Holt novels (I like crime novels... what can I say?), but I'm having a hard time finding any of these authors in digital format. Nobody seems to sell them in their original language. I can find a ton of pirated audio books online from these authors, but that's not what I'm looking for. If you want to start with something relatively simple, try Erlend Loe's books (I liked "Naiv.Super" and "Tatt av kvinnen", they are not crime novels though). Those links have a good selection of audio books - something I'm definitely going to make use of. But honestly, the actual ebook (meaning epub, mobi, etc.) selection is pretty slim.
I'm noticing this across the board in most Norwegian and/or Scandinavian online stores. A good selection of digital, non-audio ebooks just isn't out there. R. == 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

Ahh, only now I see that you actually asked for ebooks, not audiobooks. My links may not be that useful then. I don't know any good places to buy ebooks, unfortunately.

I have never been able to find ebooks in Norwegian that were not in the public domain,
it's been driving me mad too. The only place I have found with a decent supply of Norwegian ebooks is at project runeberg, which I take it you probably know about: http://www.runeberg.org They have a lot of out of copyright Norwegian novels there, not modern language but at least it's something. I'm just lucky enough to be able to travel to Norway every year to acquire books, they are usually pretty pricey though. 1 person has voted this message useful | ||||||

Yes, I've checked out runeberg. Good for older works, true. I gotta say, it's pretty frustrating not being able to find epubs/mobis when there is a huge selection of audio books. I don't get why it's OK business-wise to produce audiobooks but not digital print. I can't believe it's the Norwegian public that's driving it in that direction. I've found an article about ebooks in Norway that is an interesting read, seems they have just been slow to catch on: http://www.dagensit.no/article1809662.ece After another search, I have found a site that does ebooks: http://www.digitalbok.no/ No Jo Nesbø, but there are a few Karin Fossum books there.
