Before I'll post anything concerning new, 2014 year, a really short summary.
This year for me was sponsored by the letter C - C like "crisis". That's why it was horrible year when it comes to learning, even such precious and beloved thing for me like languages. I've completely f*cked up Language Challenge when the problems have begun.
If I'd try to point out the positives, I would definitely mention beginning of hitch-hiking, the most useful thing in learning languages ever. Also I've improved a bit my Slovene, Russian + I've started (for real, not only listening to the songs) learning Croatian.
Oh, and I've visited Georgia and Armenia (hitch-hiking to and through: Kopitnari-Tbilisi-Sadakhlo-Abovyan-Yerevan). I have to say that people there "except few exceptions" are AMAZING

Any special order for using those Georgian materials?
That vk page is really good, time to start visting vk more often.
I don't know how much you have used of Aronson's, but in spite of its complexity it
dealks with grammar better than Hewitt's book. There's also
The Georgian Language which is a great,
readily accessible reference. I used to turn to it when I couldn't understand either
Hewitt or Aronson.

Yes. Descending in estimated use.
Armazi is great, although, as you know, you have to copy the grammar topics into google/yahoo/whateva since the direct links don't work.

Since there's a little terror in Rare Languages team, here's a short update from the first day of the rest of my life:
- learning/reviewing the letters: ა,ბ,გ,დ,ე,ვ,ზ,თ,ი,კ,ლ,მ,ნ,ო,პ, ჟ,რ.
- adding one page of words from Самоучитель грузинского языка (14 words "to and through")
Oh, I've also listened to a couple of fresh Georgian songs on the internet (sources of inspiration: http://www.ardaidardo.ge/ , http://dardimandi.ge/index.php?lang_id=GEO&sec_id=13 ). I'm not really pleased with them, but there's one exception and, of course, it's by ლელა წურწუმია :
www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx-z9rHsJRc
Tomorrow the rest of the letters and another page of the words. Staaaaaaay tune!

Are you still studying Persian or is it on hold? I still benefit from the materials you shared back in 2011 :)
Good luck with your Georgian adventure! Sounds exciting!

Well, due to all of these problems I've given up Persian philology, so I'm kinda off the language right now, but of course - Persian is still somewhere deep in my . And since my Dutch friend speaks quite decent Farsi, I'd have some help, but still - I guess in such situation there must be always some time for giving a rest. Some kind of mourning, you know ;)

I'm content then. We can converse a little bit in Persian, although I've forgotten a lot of "grammar in use". Maybe I'll simply start reading some easy news in Persian (BBC seems to be the easiest) and Tajik (Radio Ozodi as always rules).

I'm envious of your Georgian studies - and I did not know that you also studied Russian! And as for not
getting done all the studies you wanted in 2013 because of external factors - then you and me both, pal :-)
Good luck with 2014 - shall we agree already that this will be an amazing year?

Definitely!
Anyway, another page of Georgian words to Anki. Just I'm afraid that putting the words can be much faster than ABSORBING them...
EDIT: Except for adding some words to Anki - I haven't done much. Just listening to Croatian Vijesti and repeating some English and, of course, Georgian words.
