Hello everyone! My name is Susy, and I live on the east coast of the United States. I
am a native English speaker. I studied German both in high school and college. I went
to graduate school in to study science and unfortunately my German deteriorated due to
lack of use. Now that I am out of school and again master of my own schedule, I am
trying to revive my German. Currently, I estimate that I am between the B1 and B2
levels. I have good reading comprehension and intermediate listening comprehension but
my grammar is horrible. I hope to bring myself solidly into the B2 level by next
spring by dedicating an hour each day to improving my knowledge.
I am also a fan of anime and Japanese dramas. After several starts and stops, I have
finally been able to dedicate a little bit of time each day to studying Japanese.
Right now, I am still very much a beginner. I have just mastered the hiragana and am
on my way to katakana mastery. I am also listening to Pimsleur Japanese 1 during my
daily commute to work.
I am happy to have found this forum. It's wonderful to be able to interact with other
people who love languages!

Welcome to the forum! Nice to see another person interested in learning Japanese. German is a great language, too! Japanese is a language that you will definitely find alluring; as it is an isolated language it'll take longer to learn, its way of thinking is something completely new for most people, but you'll get the hang of it. ;)
頑張りなさい!
