Hello!

Please let me introduce myself. As the title indicates, I live in Germany, in the (not so? but quite!) beautiful town of Saarbrücken. I have always been interested in learning foreign languages and I came here to discuss learning methods and learning experiences. I would also like to take advantage of the fact that I can write in English (and other languages) here. My active skills (writing and speaking) definitely need to be honed.

Okay, now for the languages I'm learning:

-English* and French (I study both languages at university, I am currently enrolled in a master's program of translation studies);

-Japanese (intermediate Level, also have a degree in Japanese, but I kind of abandoned my studying Japanese... it's still very, very hard and I don't have any use for it :();

-Norwegian (beginner's level, and I do it as a hobby, but it's fun!! I've only completed about 30 Assimil lessons so far, and I am already able to understand the gist of Norwegian newspaper articles. I will definitely continue with Norwegian)

Some languages I would like to begin sooner or later are: Portuguese (I have always loved the sound of the language, since I was a kid), Chinese (but not really... due to my experience with Japanese, I know it would take my entire focus as well as a lifetime...), a creole language (preferably a French-based creole), other Scandinavian languages (Danish, Swedish, Icelandic... totally in love with Scandinavian languages since I started Norwegian! And I was actually doing this on a whim).

Okay, that's all for now, I hope you will receive me well. :DD

*Oh, by the way, here on the left it says that I have a C2 level in English, but that's not quite correct, I only obtained a band score of 7.5 in the IELTS test I had to take this year, which equals C1 (as far as I know...). But it's not that important. :)
