So, I'm attempting to become an Italian media fiend, but it's harder than I initially
thought. I'm on the hunt for good podcasts in Italian, maybe something politics/news
related, something humorous (though I probably won't get it), or science related (but the
interesting kind of science that even us folks that
don't understand science can enjoy).

I'm not bothered terribly by regional accents, but in the cases where there are regional
accents I'd prefer ones from the south (Sicily) at this point so I can become more
accustomed to it.

They're not podcasts, but have you considered just using general media broadcast via
the internet? There is a lot of material out there, whether it's from RAI, Mediaset, or
other source, and from all over the peninsula, too.

As for southern, there also seems to be a fair number of radio stations that push their
broadcasts out over the internet from Salerno, and I'm sure there are others.

I do listen to some general broadcasts/radio stations, but I'm always looking for more.

Though I'd love some podcasts that I can put onto my phone to listen to during commute
time/while walking.

I hope this helps:

There are more podcasts if you look on the left hand side of the page. They are aimed at
around the A2 level and as you will see, have transcripts.
