The "Calvin & Hobbes" comics are always great fun for me to read and as I have them in different languages also help in my language learning. Right now I own books in German, English, French, Spanish, Swedish and Norwegian and I would love to add some more languages to my collection (preferably some of those I study but not necessarily).
I tried to find Arabic and Chinese versions in bookstores in Dubai and Shanghai but was unlucky - I couldn't even find out if these existed at all. Does anyone know where I could order the comics in different languages online? Any other comics you would recommend to me? I quite like Garfield and Mafalda, too, but I'm not a big fan of Tintin or Asterix... thanks for your help! 1 person has voted this message useful | |

The Spanish "Mortadelo y Filemón" was translated to German as "Clever & Smart" I think. They're just excellent in the original for language learning, but I don't know about the translations. You should search for 25th anniversary or earlier stoires though; after that (50th anniversary was not long ago) they got kind of repetitive and more importantly bland, kind of like The Simpsons.
