Hello, I'm Spanish nurse from Barcelona,Spain. Im learning french on my own by Pons methode because I
want work as a nurse in France.
These week I had a work interview and it was very bad. Was by telephone and I couldn't understand all.
I found this forum searching information about techniques to learn French. So,here I go! I want improve my
French skills and Im reading a lot of threads which I can take a lot of ideas. Also Im interested in English but
my main goal is French. I want a b2 at least because when I read I can understand an80% because is similar
to Spanish and Catalan , and when friends speak to me in French ( at intercambios) I can understand but not
by telephone or when they speak between them. Also my french writing skills are very poor.. Any advice
would be appreciated.
And maybe is una locura /crazyness but I always learn MSA so one year after learn French and English I'll
be here asking about MSA.
If you want learn Spanish or Catalan don't hesitate to ask me, I like help with Spanish/catalan doubts.
Thanks

Loperamide? well, as a frequent traveller I have seen that word a few times. My associations to your chosen name are slightly therefore slightly unsettling, but welcome none the less. As you probably already have noticed we have quite often discussions about French, and of course also lots of discussions about learning methods in general.

¡Bienvenido al foro, @Loperamida! The forum is a good resource to have to help you along the way to learning French. With your Spanish, and especially Catalan, as a base to rely on, I'm sure you will be successful learning French. Some other resources for native Spanish-speakers learning French: Assimil- El nuevo francés sin esfuerzo. Assimil is highly regarded here on the forum. Radio France Internationale has many resources for French learnersRFI- langue française (español). Bonne chance!

@loperamida, pues, ¡bienvenida al foro! I wouldn't think that you should have to start Assimil from the beginning. Start where you feel it is appropriate for you to start. I think it is very important to begin using your language skills as early as possible by listening to native material and speaking to native speakers, in addition to your studies.
