Hello All!
My name's Lorna and I'm a language nerd :D
I live in the UK- Scotland specifically. I recently found a copy of Hugo's Complete French course in a charity shop so I'm working through that as a false beginner as I'd done basic French at school then repeated at uni.
Aside from small attempts to speak Dutch, French and Norwegian(complete disaster) on holidays, things had been quiet on the language since a Mandarin course at uni.
However, last year I got a job teaching English in China. I ended up in Yantai, Shandong Province where I really enjoyed trying to communicate with my own combination of Chinese and mime! Alas, illness messed things up so I'm back in the UK not currently able to work but trying to put in an hour's study of French (incl. listening and reading) a day, energy permitting.
Hoping to get a good grasp of French then move onto German(false beginner again). Polish or Russian are rather attractive as Polish is frequently heard around town but I will have to finally get back to Mandarin if Japanese doesn't get me first. Although Hebrew's a beautiful looking language too...
Nice to meet you all!
