Congratulation on starting your language learning journey. May I ask what materials you
plan to use for studying German?

ooh boy! where to start? xD
i downloaded this huge file of about 10 GB with all these language programs and audio files and books and PDF's , i think i have enough material to last me 2 years or so.
but just to name a few:
Assimil German without Toil (1965), FSI Language Course - German, Pimsleur, Michel Thomas Learn German, Rosseta Stone, and many more
do you know of any more useful material i should get?

Welcome to the forum, Faisal. It sounds like you've got a pretty good array of materials to start you off. In my experience, most people are pretty pleased with the Assimil German, so you might want to start with that. Pimsleur is good to drill pronunciation, and a lot of people swear by Michel Thomas, although he doesn't have a native accent. FSI is undoubtedly very good but also rather dry and boring for some folks... it's a matter of taste. In your place I would start with Assimil, though. If you haven't used that course before, search the forum for tips on getting the best out of it.
