Does anyone know anything about the Swedish translator and polyglot Erik Gunnemark?
I read his book "The art and science of learning languages" a few years ago, and found it very interesting. Unfortunately I somehow managed to lose the book and I'm now unable to find a new copy.
I think that Gunneamrk stated in the book that he knows about 25 languages and can read several others.
That's prety much what I remmeber of his lingusitic achivements, so I'd be glad if someone else could give some more information about him.

I think Lugubert knows him and/or have met him. Hope he finds this thread.

Surely, there must be someone else out there who knows something about Gunnemark?

I also like "The Art and Science of Learning Languages". Here's a small website with a photo of Gunnemark: http://www.kebi.se/erikgunnemark/
It was created by his son, who provides an e-mail address and expresses the willingness to help anyone interested in his father.

According to Erard - who had contact with Gunnemark just weeks before he died - Gunnemark may have studied forty languages, but he certainly didn't claim that he could speak them all.
