Hello people,
I recently decided to go all the way with Norwegian, mostly for a hobby and I plan to go to Norway someday. One of the first things I found was the lack of resources. I went through Pimsleur I (the only level available in Norwegian) before I realized there was more to language learning. I ordered Teach Yourself in Norwegian, and I'm not quite sure where to go from there, and Assimil does not have Norwegian for English speakers. Any suggestions on where to go? You could try to get hold of an old Linguaphone Norwegian Course.

Visit Louis Janus' list of links. Perhaps something there will catch your eye.
But in terms of old-fashioned non-Internet resources, try: - The old Linguaphone course - Colloquial Norwegian - Norwegian: An Essential Grammar (by Strandskogen) or Norwegian Verbs and Essentials of Grammar (by Louis Janus) - Spoken Norwegian (by Haugen) I don't know the new Teach Yourself Norwegian, but if you find yourself unsatisfied with it, look for the old version by Marm and Sommerfelt. Also, check out Alexander Arguelles' videos on YouTube. He has extensively reviewed many language-learning products there. Might be helpful. Lykke til! I teach Norwegian to immigrants in Oslo, and the best resource I've found is from a Norwegian company called Cyberbook, who produce materials for schools. Their website is www.kunnskap.no. They have courses for levels A1, A2 and B1 of the Common European Framework, available online and as printed textbooks. They're in Norwegian only, but I think if you've already got the basics you should be able to follow the courses without to much difficulty.
The titles for Norwegian as a Foreign Language are called NorskPluss (for adults) and NorskPluss Ungdom (for young people). There are some sample chapters available online at the website above (just click on the NorskPluss (Ungdom) link in the "Demo" bar on the right hand side). A year's access to the online material costs 550NOK and the printed books are 250NOK for the textbook and 150NOK for the workbook. (Edit: These prices exclude sales tax (MVA).
