Your cursive H looks a little off to my eyes... in some places it's easy to misread it as a CH. But then again, I haven't studied Hebrew for what, two years?

There's supposed to be a space between the two, I know. I haven't written Hebrew much for a while now, so reverting to old failures :) I started learning Hebrew for the same reason I started learning Romanian a long time ago. My first words of Hebrew I learned from an ex-girlfriend and her family. (The same girl also spoke Romanian). Since then, I learned more Romanian (was of more use) but I did hear Hebrew spoken occasionally, especially if there were visitors around. I have been to several birthday parties where people spoke Hebrew amongst each other, and also went to a Pesach dinner (which was mostly Hebrew and also some French). I never learned much Hebrew during this time (Romanian I remember more of) but I got interested in it, and when the time came some years later after the split I returned to Hebrew. I love the language, it's mythical to me and I want to travel in Israel one day. To tell you the truth, many of the languages I have learned (with a few exceptions) have some origins in whom I met or whom I loved or something like that :) Or I knew somebody who... For Swedish and Russian I originally didn't know anyone who spoke them, but for Russian that's changed enormously and for Swedish somewhat less. Russian I speak regularly. That said, Hebrew is a language I really want to speak well. In some languages I know I'm doing it for the hell of it (Korean comes to mind) but not for Hebrew... 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

Same for me, actually - I besically started Hebrew when I dated an Israeli, although the studying lasted longer than the dating :D While I really like the sound of Hebrew, unfortunately I just don't have much use for it nowadays. I still listen to a lot of music in Hebrew, though. Just love some of these artists/bands. אלג'יר is great, for example, as well as some of אברהם טל and אפרת גוש. Coincidentally, Lacuna Coil is the the last English-language music I purchased before switching to "Korean-only" mode for music (which was about 4 years ago now). I've never heard any of their Italian stuff (though I knew they were an Italian band). In fact, I only really learned they existed in the first place via the Guitar Hero / Rock Band series of games. 1 person has voted this message useful |
