Yesterday and today I have spent some time on languages, but apart from the above video
on Icelandic, I have not done too much:
- completed two more active wave Breton lessons
- completed two Hebrew lessons
- made a "yellow sheet" for Romanian present indicative and subjunctive verb tenses and
read through the revision lesson (no. 28).

You have a strong Swedish accent when reading out Icelandic, but other than that not bad for the first try, especially if you really didn't listen to the recordings before. Naturally, there were some mistakes, but I only want to mention the ú in "rúta", which you pronounce like a Swedish u. In fact, it should be like a German u. The k in Keflavík is not only aspirated, but also a bit palatalized, by the way.
I think you could do really well if you decided to study Icelandic one day. I was especially impressed by your preaspiration in "ekki". It took me quite a while to get that right. Well, Icelandic pronunciation is a bit tricky, but doable.
Congrats on your job at iTalki!

Icelandic is cool! I studied it for a short time and I thought the writing system was a
bit confusing at first, but actually it's very logical once you figure it out. I found
the Wikipedia article on Icelandic Orthography very helpful.

It is fairly logical that Swedish would be the language giving me interference. I also
noticed the rúta mistake.
You don't want to know how often I heard the word ekki when I tried to ring my
Icelandic friends, hotel owners etc while I was on holiday there...

Today I spent some more time on Hebrew and completed unit 39 of the Routledge course. I
also completed two more Breton active wave lessons and spent a whole lot of time on
Russian, a language that seems to be improving every day still. I am understanding more
and more of this wonderful language, and although I have a long road before me on the
way to "I speak like a native", it is becoming slightly more understandable every day,
although I still have to pick up on many things along the way (often word choice is
important, not grammar).
