I already have near-native or advanced proficiency in all my languages except Portuguese and Dutch, so my list would only have two languages on it:

Seeing as English is my only fluent language, I can only write the top five on my hitlist ...

I picked some of the languages for their widespread use, as I can only pick five, but I also wanted a variety of culture, language structure and "tone" too ... I included Danish and Norweigan with Swedish because my understanding is that an advanced level of Swedish gives you Danish and Norweigan as "freebies," (sort of). A bit naughty I suppose.
