I've been procrastinating a little this weekend. I was working, I was tired and
I haven't been feeling well for a while. So I really didn't want to study.. I
tried to review the things I've already seen though. At least, I'd still be
studying a little.

I started using memrise to learn more vocabulary. I also made my own course to
add the words that I'm having problems remembering.

I have been using Italki from time to time. The other day, I manage to chat
only in Spanish with my language partner. Of course, it was a very basic
conversation and I had to search words from time to time. But, I was able to
communicate and understood almost everything he wrote. I liked it and after I
felt pretty proud of myself.

I also decided to write 5 new sentences every 2 days. That way, I can see my
progress: the length and grammar used, the message that I wanted to tell, etc.

I've been telling myself lately that I should start learning some grammar.
Though, I'm having some difficulties finding resources for grammar. I feel like
I should know more words before, that way I could use the grammar with words and
I could actually apply it. But, I need grammar to create sentences to practice
the vocabulary I know.. I've been trying to mix both vocabulary and grammar
these past two days, but I can't find a lot of resources that explain well.
It's a little frustrating.. I've been looking into some books, but they're
expensive and I can't decide on one. I have the money, but I don't want to
spend too much!

I watched a Mexican movie which takes place in the US, so it's a mix between
Spanish and English. Though, Spanish is the main language of the movie. I
watched it with subtitles and try to mostly listen. Get used to the language;
the way it sounds, the speed, etc. It was interesting and it'd be fun to watch
a movie in Spanish from time to time!

I quite liked the Practice Makes Perfect Spanish Verb Tenses workbook. It's inexpensive - about 12 dollars on
Amazon, I think. It relies heavily on translation (or, rather, *only* on translation), but I found it very useful. I made
cloze cards on anki so that I could keep practicing and reviewing, since there isn't a lot of review built into the book.

@Stelle:I actually looked at that series of books. They aren't too expensive
and they seemed nice. A book about verb tenses would be very helpful, yes!
I'll have to look more into it.

Today, I had to rewrite all my Spanish notes for my class, because I had used a
very small notebook and ran out of place. And I hate not having all my notes in
one place. So I decided to buy a bigger notebook. Write everything to make it
clearer and take out the unnecessary stuff. So it was like a big revision of
all that I had seen in the past month for my class. We are learning slowly, but
I like it and it keeps me motivated.
I also continued on Duolingo. I had to finish the lesson on occupations, and
make sure I don't loose my streak count. I on a 16 days streak, and I started
using Duolingo 16 days ago. My word count on the site is now at 332.
I started to watch ''Mi vida loca'' on BBC. It seems nice and it practices your
listening skills. I wish I could find a program like that in South American
Spanish... I heard about ''Destino'' which includes pretty much every accent,
from what I read. But, I tried watching the first episode and got bored because
it was too long. I might try to watch it again though.

I realized that I'm very lazy on the weekends.. I don't study much, or at all. I
review a little, but that's it. But I'm not totally against my weekends
procrastination. They help me to refresh my brain and motivation. I try to review
words I've learned, or watch a movie, listen to music, etc. in Spanish.
I now have a word count of 368 on Duolingo. I've also been using memrise.
I know that I need to start focusing on grammar, but I can't seem to bring myself
around it. I don't know where to start and where or how to learn it. I should
also learn new verb tenses, since I can only communicate in the present. I'll try
to work on that during the week.

Since the last time I wrote here, I haven't been studying much. I did have classes at
school, so at least I had a some new vocabulary and grammar, on top of practicing
talking and listening. I wanted to study outside of school too, but I procrastinated.
I was just lazy and gave up, like every single time I tried learning a language.

I've decided last week to start learning Spanish again. I'm mostly just playing on
Duolingo everyday to learn vocabulary because I need that before grammar. I
understand better by seeing the language in context not studying how it's structured.
I've also started keeping some kind of journal where I write in Spanish. It helps me
construct sentences and practice what I've learned.

This time I do want to keep learning it, I need to make an habit out of studying and
stay motivated. I think that motivation is my biggest challenge.

Hoy estudiaba los verbos en el pasado. ¡Pienso que es un muy dificíl de aprender los
tiempos de verbos! Necesito aprender más verbos y más tiempo porque puedo utilizar el
presento y un poco de verbos como comer, beber, ir, estudiar y caminar. Sólo los verbos
comunes..

Escuché un Podcast acerca de Honduras, estaba muy interesante. Hablaban de los desportes
populares, del clima, del idioma y otras cosas. Es dificíl de comprender pero entendí la
información general.

I've decided to give myself tasks to do everyday, that way I learn faster and more
efficiently (Hopefully);
-5 new words a day minimum, which I think is quite easy and reachable.
-15 minutes of reading everyday. I'm reading on my Ereader that way I can simply click
on the word and get the definition, it's easier.
-15 minutes of listening a day. Podcasts, movies, music, anything really.
-Write in my notebook everyday about anything. Preferably, using what I just learned.
-Chat with someone at least once a week.

I really want to work harder since it's summer. I have a lot of free time and I'd like
to ameliorate my Spanish skills as much as I can before I start school again.
