What are some easy stories in French? Entertaining, lively--in between Les Trois Ours and de Maupassant.
What would be some easy stories in English? For adults. I (and others) need some interesting stories to learn vocabulary. I just can't hack it with the pure vocabulary-list approach. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

http://french.about.com/od/reading/tp/begreaders.htm I only bought #2 from the list (easy french reader). Easy French Reader, by R. de Roussy de Sales, seems to be well known and popular. Since I am using assimil, which I feel is graded reading, I haven't been reading other french books. I have been reading celebrity gossip in french (yahoo quebec). Did you know Paris Hilton is having a fight with kim kardashian ? I usually take 5 words from those articles and add them to anki. From another thread, I think the same question actually, someone recommended this http://www.archive.org/stream/frenchreaderonc00dreygoog#page /n15/mode/1up It is progressive graded reading meant specifically for vocabulary, or so the intro says.
