i am from malaysia. some intro-s for my home country. malaysia has 3 major races- malay, chinese and indian. official language is malay. i am a chinese, my mother tongue is Hokkien,dialect similar to Taiwan, or Fujian dialect. i speak fluent Chinese-Mandarin, English and Malay... and 2 dialect, Hokkien and Cantonese (Hong Kong dialect). i have studied japanese for 2 years (JLPT4), Korean 1 year and German 4 years (b2)

Wow! Lucky you. You know, I've always wanted to be bilingual, especially that I live close to the Ukrainian border; unfortunately I had no chance for that.
So, what are your current language plans?

yes, i had JLPT4...current just improving my German n japs. we have japanese NHK and korean KBS on our satelite TV.
my town is just 2 hours from thailand. but i dont understand at all. these are the languages available in malaysia malay english chinese mandarin dialects chinese cantonese (hong kong) chinese hokkien (taiwan) chinese hakka chinese foochow chinese teochew (my ethnicity) chinese hainanese indian tamil (majority of the indians in malaysia) indian hindi indian bengali children are taught English and malay at school. if u r indian or chinese. u get to speak 3 languages, u like it or not. 1 person has voted this message useful |
