*cue start of Public Service Announcement*

I recently stumbled upon a big collection of resources (videos, transcripts, learning plans) from Five Colleges (Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst) that was just too good to keep in relative anonymity in my log or the "Links and Resources" sub-forum. I think that the links could be handy for any of you want some practice with L-R or to see and hear the language as used in basic situations (certainly more focused than looking on YouTube)

For the team's purposes, here are the links to the material in Bulgarian, Croatian/Serbian, Czech, Hungarian, Slovak

There is also a lot of content in Russian as many of the exchange students from Central Asia who were interviewed (arguably unfortunately) used only Russian (with English here and there) rather than the ancestral language. Click on the following to see these interviews and the transcripts and translations.

Azerbaijan (a few interviews in English or Russian, many in Azeri)
Kazakhstan (some interviews in Russian, some in Kazakh, a few in English)
Kyrgyzstan (all in Russian as far as I could tell. No Kyrgyz :-/)
Tajikistan (all in English or Russian as far as I could tell. No Tajik :-/)
Turkmenistan (many interviews in English or Russian, a few interviews in Turkmen :-/)
Uzbekistan (a few interviews in English or Russian, many in Uzbek)

...and for cathrynm, Japanese and Norwegian for a3 as languages that aren't Balto-Slavonic or Finno-Ugric.

That looks really helpful for my Hungarian, thanks a lot!

I'll try it out for Slovak too as I don't have much experience with basic situational Slovak.

No problem.

The quality of some of the short dialogues isn't great and you may need to turn the volume to the maximum on your computer (especially some of the Hungarian ones). They're like phrasebooks with video of the situations and some recordings of important sentences or phrases.
