Saw this on AJE (English, not Arabic sadly) today, about disappearing languages. Thought
people here would be interested. They're focusing on a different language each week for 5
weeks. Haven't seen the first once yet myself.

Excellent documentary! I'll look forward to watching the rest.
I absolutely love the native Australian tribes' philosophy that the language belongs to the land and that if you enter another tribe's territory you must speak their language out of respect. This is a philosophy we desperately need in the west!
I really hope I end up in my dream career as a field linguist. . . but I can't imagine many universities have enough money to fund that sort of reasearch these days.
