I am quite an active person chatting and telephoning via Skype and 80 % of my Skype - contacts I find via Facebook, so new people apply to become my Facebook friends and, if I accept them they chat with me on Facebook and ask me to make Skype appointments. My most succesvol Skype contacts are polyglot skypings or language tandems. In a polyglot skype call which lasts about 2 hours we speak perhaps 4 languages and a skype tandem means that someone wants for example to practise Dutch, German or Esperanto with me and offers me to let me practise my Spanish, French, Italian or Danish. Most of my Skypies are very young, so it's proven that age differences don't play any role for succesful language exchanges and practise.
