I think your approach is probably similar to mine... I also use Assimil and Anki as
well as Michel Thomas (a sort of alternative to Pimsleur). I'm thinking of completing
both those courses before I start reading some easier German books (translations of

Yes it looks as if our approaches are fairly similar, the only negatives I have heard
about Michel Thomas are that the student pronunciations can be incorrect, but most
people say it is worth it either way.

I may be interested in this a month from now but I feel that I need to work a bit more
on my active skills before I look into language partners. I will definitely be
following your progress and I hope we can both work together in the future to tackle
German. I am lucky enough to have visited Germany a couple times and I have made some
friends who are fluent in both German and English, but I have also heard that there
are many sites that forum users use to meet language partners online.
