Edit: I have just done a quick google search and here in the UK, if you already have a degree, you can do 'enhancement' courses such as modern languages in order to do the languages PGCE. Here is the link to the TDA site which mentions this : TDA Website - Enhancement Courses

Be careful about how you use the term "UK" here. Scotland has its own system and even within the England/Wales/NI system certain options are only available for priority subjects that have a teacher shortage, which can also vary between constituent countries.

The availability of "subject knowledge enhancement courses" (or the Scottish equivalent "top-up to teach") is regulated by demand for teachers -- if they're short of university applicants, they create a loophole to make more people eligible to apply.

Unfortunately, you can't be sure how long it's going to take them before they plug the gap and withdraw the enhancement courses (Scotland currently only offers them for Maths, and previously offered English, but this was withdrawn at such short notice that many websites still advertised the courses after they'd been cancelled) so you need to do them right before your PGCE (PGDE in Scotland).

Oh, and Brainbench won't get you anywhere in language circles. The only reason to do a Brainbench language test would be if your employer uses Brainbench for staff development.

Is the PDGE mandatory in the UK to teach a language or is just needed to apply for a job
in the Public Schools' system? Private schools for adults require the PDGE certificate?

You can teach adults in evening classes or one-on-one classes without qualifications. PGCE/PGDE is required for teaching children in state-funded schools. There is no legal requirement to hold a PGCE or PGDE to work in a private children's school, although these schools are still unlikely to hire a new teacher without one.
