Thanks for the replies. I've gotten two albums, both of which are good and fairly clearly sung.
Guillaume Grand... sounds a bit like James Morrison and/or Jack Johnson. Good music and easy to understand. The whole family likes this CD, and the song Toi et Moi is on Lyrics training (which is where I discovered him).
Rafael... sounds a bit like a lite version of Radiohead. Fairly clear singing. Not bad music.

I really like listening to the radio program "Bonjour chanson." You can find it on
Public Radio Exchange
(PRX) If that link doesn't take you there directly, you may have to sign up (its
free). There are nine seasons of the program and each episode introduces a handful of
French songs from rap to traditional "chanson." The host Charles Spira introduces each
song and reads a translation of the first stanza. I've found a lot of great music this
way.
Here's a description from the latest episode:
French Language Popular Music celebrates the human experience and does so in a million
exciting ways. In this episode, Lise Chemla, a French artist who spent time in
Detroit, professes her love for "evertything automobile" and the celebrated artist
Juliette tells us what "elegant undies" are all about. We hear a famous rock song from
the 90's interpreted by Alain Bashung and we are introducted to Jean-Louis Aubert who
was the creator of the French Rock Group "Telephone", but who struck out on his own in
the eighties, and there is more

I would recommend Pierre Lapointe (he's Quebecois) since his music is REALLY good and he enunciates very clearly.

Just a couple minutes ago, while listening to France Inter, I heard a song that really lifted my spirits. From what I'm listening to right now, other songs by this guy are also good. Here it is:
Fefe Vilain Petit Canard
I also found the
lyrics.
