So I went overboard for Christmas spending plus I have dentist bills but the Amazon.fr
DVD sales are really tempting. I've been looking through to see their selection of French
series/movies that potentially have subs (no dubbed material - I have enough of that) and
there is *some* stuff. Something to think about...

Ooh excellent, so many choices. Anyone know anything about Hero Corp? It being by
Alexendre Astier (Kaamelott)'s brother intrigues me. I know how everyone likes the really
violent/gory series now so I haven't bothered with Engrenages (my limit is about at Law
and Order level) but this one doesn't *look* like it would be that violent.

Internet.

So I've been sick all weekend which has been a bad thing for my active learning but good for getting in time just watching the end of year specials for Le Petit Journal and Les Guignols de L'Info on Canal+.

I haven't done anything for Irish in a while which I should rectify soon. I had contacted the Irish language consultant for Language Hunters a while back about how to continue using the method and I finally got a response. He said that he loves Buntus Cainte for its adaptability to the method and is what he used to teach the president of Language Hunters. And he proposed maybe organizing a session when he's in town with the Irish study group leaders about how to make it work which would be great.

What's the deal with the Sylvester Stallone puppet? Is Stallone particularly popular in France? I've seen bits of the Les Guignols on youtube and he seems to be used for a lot of the American roles.

He's sort of meant to represent the US and all it's sort of globalizing forces. So there's the capitalist one, the religious one, the army one, etc.
