reading some David Crystal. He's a linguist who writes very accessible and entertaining
books and articles on the English language.

One book to be recommended is "The Stories of English", but there are many others.

They won't tell you how to get to C2, but will just help offer a more rounded picture
of the language as a whole in a pleasurable way.
