Hi everyone. I wanted to use the Slowly spoken news on the Deutsche Welle site. Here is
the direct link:

http://www.dw.de/slowly-spoken-news-reports-learning-german/ a-1833641-1#

How does it work? It doesn't play directly from the page. I tried to add the web address
to Feedly as well as a Chrome extension. I am not very tech savvy. Can anyone help me
out? I just want to use it when on my laptop using Google Chrome browser. I have no
experience with RSS readers. Thanks!

One way is to use a Download Them All extension in your web browser. It saves a lot of pointing and clicking.

Luke, thanks for sharing. Google Chrome is my usual browser, but I opened Firefox just
to
try this. Nothing is happening still when I click the link on the German page.
However,
it seems to do nothing. I don't know what is going on with a pop-up blocker or
something,
but the page says to copy the page URL into a podcasting software and that isn't
seeming
to work!

They all just say no feed found. So is the url to paste not just the one of the page
from the Deutsche Welle site?

Oh well, it doesn't seem likely to work. No sense wasting more time fiddling with it.

I will just try:
germanpod101.com
slowgerman.com

I am just trying to get in some listening practice outside of the course I am working
with, so it isn't necessary to be from where I originally planned!

It appears that the official Slowly Spoken German News DW website is defunct. So much for German efficiency. :-)

However, DW also has a SoundCloud website for slowly spoken German news, which contains current listings. They don't have an RSS feed, though.

Thanks! I am glad I'm not crazy, haha. I didn't want RSS anyway. Thanks for the link :)

It appears that DW is using dynamically generated web pages that offer content only for a limited amount of time. The official web site is here.

In addition to the SoundCloud page, they also have an RSS feed with .mp3 download links. You can also subscribe to the daily podcasts on iTunes.
