I founded a few interesting videos for beginner: Katten, musen, tiotusen
It is designed for children with subtitles and easy vocabulary.
For the more intermediate/advanced learners. There are still 15 days left to watch Ljusets drottning.

Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar
So you will find a lot, if you are not choosy.
There is also

Just for your information:
There is another short-series online at svtplay.se. The series is called Gynekologen i Askim. I haven't watched it yet, but maybe someone of you guys find it interesting.

Hjem is indeed Norwegian (it means "home").

Thanks and I was wondering why I didn't understand anything.
It is September and I have the feeling I have nothing done and the year is nearly over. So it is time for a “mid-term” review.
Ok it’s is not completely true. I haven’t done much for the TAC or completed a lot of my tasks/goals, but I did a lot of other stuff. I finished my studies this year and I went to Ireland for 4 months. During the time in Ireland I did nothing for any language. I just enjoyed my time there. Of course I spoke and wrote a lot of English, but didn’t do any formal study.
English
How did the four months influence my English? I am feeling more confidence now. I wouldn’t say my grammar has improved; I still make the same mistakes. But my vocabulary and listening skills are much better than before.
Somehow I managed to change to English books and movies/series. When I am watching a DVD or reading a book, I am definitely choosing English now. I hope that will also influence my Super Challenge.
I took a look into my grammar book. I think it is a good idea to review a few things. So I did the study guide part of English Grammar in Use. It recommended me to study 48 lessons. If I read the explanations I’ll know/recognize them. But if I try to use them I’ll not do it correctly. So I will do this 48 lessons.
In January my planned tasks were:
Quote:
- Complete my own little lang-8 challenge. See more in post 61 |
|
|
I stopped because of the lack of time. I am still thinking it is a good idea and I will continue with and I will hopefully finished by the end of the year.

Yep, that works fine.

Mina arbetsuppgifter från januari:

- Stay up to date with my Anki deck |

Jag gjorde inte anki i Irland, men nu är jag på det aktuella läget. Det var mycket att göra.
Nej, jag har inte gjort det, men jag har köpt en lättläst bok och en barnbok. Nu måste jag bara läsa de.
Jag har inte gjort det regelbundet.

Jag har tittat på ”Äkta människor” den här veckan. Det var en positiv överraskning. Jag förstod mer än jag trodde. Jag forstod inte allt, men jag förstod nog att följa.
Nu jag måste träna skriva och prata.
English
I did one grammar review lesson. This week I’ve spent my time on reading the book “A Clash of Kings”. I read also a few pages very detailed. I looked up the words; I paid attention to phrases and prepositions. Reading is much more fun without this stuff, but for a few pages it’s fine.
I am also really happy about the unknown words. It really doesn’t matter if I know words like portcullis. I can’t think about a situation where I would use it.
I made a list of the useful and unusual words.

TAC 2014 is over. To be honest I haven’t done much for Swedish this year. I have just focused on other things and Swedish was the first thing I dropped. So my outcome was quite low this year. I didn’t recognize any improvements, but I don’t want to give up so this story will be continued in 2015.
English
No formal studies here. I spoke, wrote, listened and read a lot this year. I feel more comfortable using English, but I have the feeling my grammar is getting worse and worse.
And I got told that my pronunciation got really odd this year. For some reasons I’ve started to mumble a lot. It’s just the case for English; I don’t mumble in German. I stutter and using a lot of filler words in Swedish, but I don’t mumble there either.
My language challenge is running quite good. I borrowed a lot of dvds from the library. Usually I read more than watching movies/series. I also don’t have a television, but for some reasons I had just read 33 books and watches 99 films.
Spanish
I haven’t done anything. Three languages were just too many.

Gott nytt år, Mareike!
I’m happy to read that you’ll keep studying Swedish. We both didn’t see much progress in 2014, but with a little help from the new Scandinavian team and some reciprocal encouragement, I bet we can do much better this year!
I’m looking forward to reading about your progress during TAC’15!
