Hey Jinx! Hope your studies are going well! Really pleased to read about your progress in Mandarin! Since you don't like rote memorisation, I can't really recommend to you my own method for learning characters, since it involves quite a bit of memorisation and consistant, structured review. However, if there's anything else I can be of help with, let me know! I'm always happy to see people learning Mandarin :)
