SUPER CHALLENGE UPDATE - Added French audio entry 47 and Dutch audio entries 33-37
Progress is very, very slow lately. Last week was my busiest work week ever, according to my timesheet, and I consider myself lucky to be making any progress at all. I'm finally somewhat caught up on sleep, at least. Most of my progress is "off the record," too, since I've been reading more Song of Ice and Fire in German, in an effort to stay ahead of the HBO series. I'm only a bit more than a third of the way through Book 3 (which comprises books 5-6 in the German edition), but since Book 3 is about 1500 pages in German, I guess that's nothing to be ashamed of. SUPER CHALLENGE UPDATE - Added Dutch audio entry 38
As mentioned in my last entry, I've been reading Song of Ice and Fire in German, and finished about 1000 pages of Storm of Swords. Strangely enough, this has taken up much of my reading time, but at least I have SOMETHING to add to my log for an actual challenge. BOOKS (Italian): 3. ... FILMS, ETC. (Italian): 28. ... I've been focussing more on French than Italian recently, but I've had technical difficulties with my recording of the French matches. Doh! Saw bits and pieces of some Serie A occasionally, but that's about it. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

SUPER CHALLENGE UPDATE* - Added Dutch audio entry 39-41, French audio entry 48 (and endless amounts of
German) * -- Now with more football It's been a good bit of a layoff for me again, but I'm still plodding away slowly, at least. No new books to post for the SC, unfortunately. I had been focussing on German for a while in anticipation of taking the TestDaF, but I didn't register early enough and the test was sold out. Boo. The good news is, having come back to Dutch and French after some time away, I'm finding that I'm doing quite well again, so I don't have a huge mountain to climb to get back where I was, at least for passive skills. But the biggest news is going to be with Italian. When I started slowing down, Italian was the first thing to go. My trip to Italy was postponed, and I was unsure whether it would actually happen, so I had little motivation to worry about it. But as of today, I have plane tickets to go to Italy in 4 months! So I downloaded HP2 in Italian, fired up my Italian podcasts, and am contemplating how in the heck to shoehorn Assimil back into my routine again. The bottom line is that Italian is now the undisputed #1 priority for me (as far as language study goes, that is) and anything else should be de minimus for a while. So I think I should have no problem finishing the audio portions of all of my SC events, though books is looking like a stretch at the moment. We'll see. BOOKS (Italian): 3. ... FILMS, ETC. I suppose I should have done this a while back, but I finally got in gear and officially completed and logged the "last" of my "required" audio for French. Thus, I enter the ranks of those who have completed a task worthy of a star on the Super Challenge website. Yay! So yes, I did finish the Dutch audio in a timely fashion, as well. Next up, I plan to finish at least one Dutch book imminently and start that count moving again.
