The sooner the better. LOL :) Although he remembers some phrases from his days in Africa, my father doesn't speak French. But he has many francophone friends. Just watched the first episode of Lilyhammer. It's like the Sopranos. A New York mafiosi testifies agianst his boss and is placed in FBI's Witness Protection programme. I have watched the first 13 episodes of Pokemon (Season 1).

I just played another episode of Pokemon and noticed an immediate jump in comprehension (compared to Lilyhammer). I can follow cartoons a lot better than regular TV shows, but I guess that's to be expected.
