Today I read a little more than three pages of ACC. Tomorrow I will be done with dialogue
4. I just remembered, I need to finish Aronson! I will probably work on that tomorrow. :)

I finished dialogue 4. I'm excited to move on to the next one, but it's too late right
now. Good night. :)

At this rythm you're going, you're gonna catch up with me anytime soon! I studied the
last time on January 3rd, and may resume only after January 21st. It's a bit frustrating
to have such a long break at the beginning of a TAC, but it had to be so and I'm not
losing my motivation at any point.

As for our project, I think I have to finish the poetry section at ACC first before I can
take another textbook. I'll let you know, maybe right now in February when I get back to
work and thus have more time to study (no matter how nonsensical it may sound =D )

I was wondering something. Are there Georgian words that have the letter ჰ that don't
come from other languages? Besides certain verb conjugations, like ჰქვია and ჰყავს,
because, if I'm not mistaken, those are not usually pronounced, right? I was just
wondering because I heard someone say the word "sahaero" and it just sounded so strange
because that "h" sound is rarely used in Georgian. I tried to think of other words with
that sound and it seems that they are all loanwords, such as haeri, which sounds way too
much like "air" to be a native Georgian word! (and according to Wiktionary it is Greek).

Right now I am watching the "Igbliani Borbali," which is like Wheel of Fortune but in
Georgian, and I actually guessed one of the words! It was ღიმილი. The letters were
*ი*ილი. Ok, not that impressive, but I was surprised because last time I watched it
(a long time ago) I didn't even know the words after they had solved them! If you want,
you can watch it here. I like how
they still turn the letters manually like they used to in the old days...I guess it's
so that poor pretty girl won't have an existential crisis like Vanna White probably
has. ;)

Anyway, today I finished dialogue five in ACC. The next one doesn't sound too exciting
(the post office one, or whatever it's about...). Oh well, I'm sure it will be just as
useful as the rest of them have been. After that I listened to some Gruzinskiy yazik c
mamoi. I keep listening to the same parts over and over again because I never feel
ready to move on. It just goes so fast and there are so many phrases in each part that
it feels like it will take forever to actually remember them. I guess this is just
gonna be something that I have to listen to a lot... :)

I still haven't gotten to Aronson, but I am going on a roadtrip this weekend to the
middle of nowhere, so I'll have plenty of time for that!

zecchino, I'm pretty much sure ჰ does occur in native Georgian words. It's not an alien
sound, it's just that it tends to merge with ხ in some languages. Maybe there are verbal
roots with ჰ, though I can't think of an example right now.

Post office is always the most boring section in a textbook, now that people seldom use
snail mail :D The dalogue is useful though, especially concerning grammar.

I'm still not back yet, maybe next week I'll be partially on, I miss my studies a lot!

I know it's not an alien sound, I just wonder if it still exists except in words from
other languages. I can't think of any examples, but then again, I only know, what? 1% of
all Georgian words? :)

I'll try to get through the post office thing...hehe. It's kind of interesting/irritating
how things change so fast these days, that these kinds of books become outdated after
only a few years! Although, in the more distant future it might be kind of amusing, I
guess. I mean when it gets REALLY outdated. :) Oh well, at least languages don't change
as fast as technology, or we would have to write completely new textbooks every two years
or so!
