I'm making a phrasebook for my mom for our trip that we are going on next year. It will
be mostly in Russian, a little bit of Hebrew, and...Georgian! :D I thought it would be nice to teach her a few things during our flights. So far I have just written a bunch of silly things that came to my head, mostly involving khachapuri (in Georgian) and vareniki for when we're in Ukraine (long story, maybe I'll write a post about that on my Russian log!). Yeah, something like that. If you look on my Russian log I posted a little map of all the
places where my grandma lived. We won't go to all of them, because we're already going to plenty of places! And also I think it's best that we skip the North Caucasus and just stick to Georgia and Ukraine. But we will also go to Israel and Moscow/St. Petersburg. I have a few rough itineraries planned out, but it is still a year in the future so I'm not sure yet how it will look! There was still a low probability that i'd be going to Georgia this year, if I chose to travel to Italy, but I chose Aruba and Curaçao instead, and that's why I'm learning Papiamento. =D
I had planned I'd be going next year, but then I'll be going to the US (Orlando) in the first semester to bring my sister and my young nephew, and I don't know if I'll have time or money for another trip which would have to be in the second semester anyway. Travelling directly to Georgia is blood expensive and takes two days, and I think hotels are expensive there too, even though the cost of living might not be that low. The time I decide to go to Georgia, I'll probably go to Italy, stay there for a couple of days, go to Georgia for a few days then come back to Italy and from there to Brazil. This is because flying within Europe is cheap. Anyway, the longer it takes, the better my Georgian gets (which is an assumption, as sometimes I'm uncertain about that). Btw, how's Aronson? Any plans of finishing it? I'm about to finish Le Petit Prince and I still don't know what is coming next. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

That sounds like a great trip! And yeah, flying to Georgia is expensive. And obviously
it's worse from Brazil. That's why I'm not flying to Tbilisi. I'll probably fly to Russia or even Tel Aviv (somehow that is cheaper!). As for Aronson, I have three chapters left. I'm on spring break so I'll finish it this week. Probably in the next couple days. :) General update: Yesterday I didn't feel like studying anything. Right now I am watching "Saqartvelos Varskvlavi." It's like American Idol. They are doing the auditions part where they show all the horrible people. That's the only part I care about! :) Like I said, I will finish Aronson soon, and do some ACC.
