Did someone say Michel Thomas? I did Michel Thomas for Greek and I found it very useful.

Began listening to Michel Thomas. I'm absolutely useless without
transcripts because if I can't clearly imagine how the word looks in written form I am not able to move on, definitely. And yeah, the method works already: εγώ θέλω ένα (looks in the transcript) σάντουιτς (but I'm too lazy to do one in the late evening, haha). 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Via Diva, you can check the transcripts on their website. I always do that after completing a CD, to note down the most important grammar structures and some other things.

Today (and on Thursday) I had Greek class and I've now learned the main verb groups in
the present. I've also gained a wider vocabulary, but to express anything more complex (for example when I try to use a subjunctive) I still have to replace the subjunctive forms with the indicative ones to say what I want to say (Tarzan speech, but you get there). Yes, I know you need the subjunctive in Greek. I sometimes also simply put unconjugated/undeclined forms of words when I don't know them exactly (because it's better to say something than nothing, and yes, I will figure out what the correct form is soon enough). First, building up words and confidence. And most of my results aren't half bad anyways. I recommend this by the way - figure out how to say it exactly right a little bit later, when you have a clue as to what a lot of the words actually mean. The verb conjugations in present tense are pretty useful. I'm pretty sure we'll handle some nouns (I know the forms for most of the nouns) soon, but I have no clue about adjectives, haha... 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Working on my simple things in Greek - getting my nouns and present tense verbs right. I
finished the ninth lesson in my book (as I recall there are 36, with each 10th lesson being a recap). So I will be doing the recap and moving on to new things (like more verb tenses and adjectives).
