Wow, it has been a while!
I'm afraid I dropped studying Mandarin actively a while ago. However, I've recently decided to pick it up again. It still came in handy when I travelled to Japan - almost all the other guests at our hostel were Chinese in Kyoto! I was able to follow along with the conversation relatively well. I've picked up a boyfriend who was born in Hong Kong - English is his preferred language (he moved to New Zealand at five years old), however his mum prefers Cantonese. Before diving too deeply into Cantonese, I want to refresh my memory in Mandarin, especially reading comprehension. 1 person has voted this message useful | |
