As for the goals: Since the Asian team challenge will be on reading, I'll try to do a
lot of that for all my languages (Including Norwegian)!

Norwegian:
- Finish chapter 2 and do at least chapter 3 of På vei
- Finish watching Season 1 of Dag (if possible with English subs) and re-watch it with
Norwegian subs (I already have them all for season 1)
- Watch 1 or 2 movies subbed in English (I have the three Fritt Vilt)
- Try to read a bit of Klartale

Korean:
- Do 5 to 10 grammar points and write 5 sentences per point (every month chllenge from
now on. Thanks Renate!)
- Read 3-4 논문
- Watch a few movies without subs
- Get some new convos at the Polyglot Café if I can go there
- Read at least a bit the Little Prince that I got 2 years ago

Japanese:
- Do 5 grammar points and write 5 sentences per point (wanted to do it this month but
couldn’t find the time)
- Read the newspapers daily.
- Listen to the NHK Radio more often
- Read Read Read! For the month’s challenge, I’ve given myself the goal of trying to
finish to read the 2 books of Kafka by mid-July at most.

Chinese:
- Do at least 5 grammar points and write 5 sentences per point
- Read 1 or 2 stories from my reader.
- Continue watching series and start again watching Chinese subbed Chinese series
- Write on Weibo regularly
- Try to talk at the Polyglot Café if I go there.

All:
- I will be out of school again so I will have to rebuild a routine from the start
which might be difficult.

Wow, it's been a while I haven't posted anything. I'm gonna do a quick update for
everything and then go into details even it might be boring for most people. I'm going to
do one post per language since there's a lot to say. I'll start tonight but not sure if
I'll do it all in one shot or not. I don't wanna miss anything

All: I've maintained most of my languages and practiced quite a lot japanese and
Korean in the past month. I've also started to read more but am still not reading enough
I think. I have started reading in Spanish to improve a bit without studying and I am
finding it quite easy. I do miss some details about the story but can follow rather
easily. I am also getting more and more attracted to Indonesian for some reason even
though I am not exposed to it at all.

Norwegian:
I haven't been doing much Norwegian seriously those past few weeks but I've had a a
beginning of June "relatively" effective. The pronunciation seems to be pretty much
down even though I must sound weird.

Nowadays I'm trying to get myself exposed to more Norwegian but It seems to be hard.
I've been listening to På Vei's audio a lot and checking the book itself too to try to
improve a bit at the same time. I've also been doing a "Norwegian Beginner sentences"
deck on Memrise.

A bit different, but a bit related too: I just came back from a 4-day trip in
Copenhagen where my girlfriend is at the moment. Even though I mostly spoke Korean
(since I was with her 24/7), I enjoyed a lot looking at all the signs and understanding
some things here and there. I even understood half an ad (about printing from Internet
or something like that) and it made me happy like a kid. I've also asked a price in
Danish (if it's the same as Norwegian : Hva koster det?) but actually had to apologize
and ask again in English since I did not understand the answer... Well anyway, it made
me realize I could have enjoyed even more the trip if I had studied harder my
Norwegian. I've thus decided to get it on for real!

More on that as soon as I'll have actually started to see some results

Korean:

For the June-July challenge, I was planning on reading the whole "The little prince" in
Korean by even though I worked on it well the first few days, I sidetracked and started
reading more chinese. I am studying it slowly though and trying to go back to
beginner's lessons to make my vocabulary grow a bit and fill the numerous holes I have
in it. I am also learning all the vocabulary related to apartments, houses, landscapes
and such because I will start my internship soon and I will have to do some check-in of
lofts, apartments and such to Asians (mostly) but also create some contracts with real-
estate agencies from such countries as Korea, Japan, China (mostly Japan it seems).

My girlfriend (who is korean) left France about a month ago so I've been speaking less
but writing more in Korean. As said in the previous post about Norwegian though, I just
spent 4 days with her and it was an incredible pleasure. My Korean was flowing out
easily, I could talk (and impress!) her Korean friends there. However, she is now going
to go back to Korea in 3 weeks and not knowing when we'll be able to meet again, we
decided to just stay friends... we'll see how well that goes...

Anyway, for the rest of this month and the next one coming, I plan on continuing build
up my vocabulary and start again some grammar study too (I've been listening to the 서
울대학교 한국어 2 audio.

I've realized that my Korean in too sporadic. I've got holes of knowledge where I
shouldn't and know stuff that I actually don't need yet. I need to make that more
equal.

Japanese:

Well again a lot has happened but I know I've forgotten stuff I wanted to say/ask so
I'll go over everything quickly.

My flatmate's back in Japan. It was 6 incredible month with her and even though we
started not so close, I believe she's now a dear friend of mine. Her departure was hard
but I know I'll go again to Japan and she'll come again to France (she LOVES france for
some reason :p) so It's ok.

As a result however, I lost my speaking practice partner so I'm afraid my skills are
going to go down fast. I've been reading quite a bit however. I've (re)started an RPG
in Japanese that I had dropped down because it was too hard to follow but now I'm
playing it as if it was in English, not having trouble following the story and small
quests. It feels like a good break now and then. I've also read quite a few news
articles but lost my rythm since the beginning of July (everybody from exchange going
back to their countries).

For listening, I haven't watched any serie, TV show, just a tiny bit of manga (not a
big fan anymore). I have started listening to some good Japanese "rap" music that I got
from a friend at first and then used to find some more. The lyrics are also a really
good practice. For those interested : "不可思議/wonderboy"'s 「銀河鉄道の夜」makes me
dream (and the others are pretty good too if you like the style). Or also "Zone the
Darkness" (赤い靴の少女)

As for Korean, I'm studying vocabulary related to houses and apartments but not having
much problems in Japanese for that, I'm actually extending to real-estate related
vocabulary. Pretty interesting I find actually.

I now wish to read even more, go back into reading articles; but above all, I'd like to
start again on Kanjis. I however have no idea about how to go about that. Any tips?

Chinese:

Last but far from being least, this is the language for which I can talk most this
time.

First of all, I've bought 3 books from the Chinese breeze graded reader series. 1 from
level 1 which I've read fully and then listened to 2-3 times, and 2 from level 2 (I
just started one of them and working on one chapter per day).

I've also just started studying yesterday grammar points and then putting examples
sentences on Lang-8. I'm planning on doing 2 per day until I reach a level where most
points will have many different usages.

Apart from that, I've been working on my HSK3 deck (fully done, just reviews now) and
another HSK3 deck with questions from the test (halfway through it) and it's not much
work but keeps me serious.

I actually have done many things but cannot seems to remember them now. That probably
is because a week ago my ex contacted me to ask me whether I'd be interested in
translating chinese for one of her colleagues. Obviously I don't have the level but it
seems she's got faith in me and thus gave my email to her colleague. I've thus exchange
one long email with her.. all in Mandarin! I sent it to my ex first for correction and
she did not correct much which was really pleasant! She sent me and example of what
had been done before and it (indeed) seems way out of my league in a sense but at the
same time feasible. I'm waiting now for more news about that but if I do get this
opportunity, it'd be GREAT practice!

So... I thought I could endure my wanderlust of starting Indonesian but in the end... I
ended up buying a phrasebook for Italian today! I didn't want to do so for Indonesian
because I want to learn it properly, but I want to give Glossika's sentence method a go
with a language I'm interested in but don't want to spend too much time on.

So I've bought the lonely planet phrasebook with CD and a book of 1001 sentences in
Italian. That's about 1400 sentences. I'll have to re-check how this method is supposed
to be put in practice, but I think it's gonna be quite interesting.

Also, for some reason, I've decided not to tell anybody around me about that
experiment.
I'm already seen as crazy by most of my friends and this is even above my usual
crazyness
so figuring out if this works first seems a good idea.
