Hello everybody!

My name is Christian, I’m 30 years old, and I’m German. I’m working as a graduate student at the University of Tübingen, a small town in Southern Germany. I’m writing a dissertation about church music in the 16th century and, in my free time, I study languages as a hobby.

I have been learning Russian for three years now and I like it a lot. I started studying it, because I very much like classical Russian literature and I wanted to read it in Russian. Besides that, in my opinion, Russian is a very beautiful and important language.

Now, I’m reading "The Gambler" by Dostoyevsky with the help of a German translation and I hope that I will manage to improve the level of my reading and speaking skills this year. At the moment, I don’t speak badly, but I’d like to speak a bit more fluently.

I hope to learn a lot of new things with all of you. Good luck!

Как всегда, все выверенно. Буквально парочку исправлений. Работать аспирантом нельзя, нужно сказать просто "Я аспирант".

Are you aware of the site www.kniga24.de? They are based in Germany but deliver throughout Europe. I haven't used it myself so far, so I can't say how good their service is, but they seem to have a great selection not only of books, but also DVDs, CDs, MP3 downloads and other stuff as well, at quite good prices.

I will soon post my January challenge text, but as the first week has been very busy I haven't had time to write it up yet. Hopefully during the weekend or Monday.

I just joined the Team! I started learning Russian a few months ago. Been a slow process, but I'm hoping to
make some big improvements this year.
