It's always nice to read about other people learning German.
Music is really helpful. I find it very motivating when I can distinguish a few words or phrasals of a song whose lyrics I've never read. 250 hours sounds like a hell of a lot, although this consideration mainly depends on your lifestyle.
Sorry to read you had to stop studying. Hope you are able to resume it soon. Good luck with your goals!
