My target languages for TAC are going to be Polish (język polski) and
French (la langue Francaise)

My current levels would have to be around a2/low b1 French after a year of on and off
study and my polish is at a1 having started in august

My materials so far, and which make up my daily study are as follows:
Assimil french with ease - active phase
Anki - which has an assimil flashcard deck, a basic french vocabulary deck and various
polish words i add over time
Oscar Swan's first year polish - a great resource, part way though
bilingual texts in polish and graded readers for french
Lang-8 corrections

My study times are usually about an hour per day for both languages and that is
reading, writing, listening and speaking. I get plenty of opportunity to speak polish
but im not that confident yet.

Looking forward to learning with everyone and any corrections are appreciated!

do zobaczenia :)

po polsku
A short introduction about myself:

Pozdrowienia z Australii

Mam na imię Nick (Mikołaj), mam dwadzieścia (20) lat, i mieszkam w Brisbane, w
australii.
Studiuję ekonomię a nie pracuję. Lubię czytać dobre książki i lubię surfing -
(surfowanie?). Mam psa. on ma na imię
cooper. jest (labrador x kelpie x golden retriever - not in polish).

Dziękuję za czytać (for reading? - use a gerund here??)

Français
I saw many other HTLAL'ers mention lingvist so i decided to have a look. I spent 30
minutes going over the memorise section until i reached 200 words. I will attempt to
do some again tomorrow but i dont wish to spread myself so thinly over many learning
platforms, rather some consistency

some reading, i have received. A dictionary is going to be necessary

I'm not sure if correcting someone's log is not rude, anyway:

Mam na imię Nick (Mikołaj), mam dwadzieścia (20) lat, i mieszkam w Brisbane, w
australii.
Studiuję ekonomię i* nie pracuję. Lubię czytać dobre książki i ** surfing.*** Mam psa, (wabi się)**** Cooper. Jest krzyżówką labladora i kelpie z golden retrieverem.
Dziękuję za czytanie (za uwagę/zainteresowanie) (for reading? - use a gerund here??) - reding(gerund) -> czytanie.

* - 'i' fits much better here -> Studiuję i (and) nie pracuję.
** - you don't need to repeat verb when conjugation doesn't change, at least here
*** - both forms - surfing and surfowanie are correct, anyway we use surfing more often
**** - when you speak about pets, it's better to use "wabić się" than "mieć na imię".
When you mean yourself -> My name is Nick (Mam na imię/Nazywam się Mikołaj),
When you mean your dog -> It's name is Cooper (Wabi się Cooper).

Looking forward to see your progress :)

I've added you to the team log, Straya. Bienvenue!

I hope this is a good year of study for you. NFWE is a great course, and Lingvist will be a nice complement to it.

Merci, Jeffers. I am looking forward to a good year of study with our group. I read your year's end wrap up and i
was most impressed. I will be attentively following your log this year and wish you well in your studies.

Francais

as a small update i have watched both parts 1 and 2 of "Le comte de monte cristo" from 1998 with English subtitles.
I have also completed an article from "Forbes Life" and plan to read more throughout the day.

Po Polsku Time : 1H:45 minutes today

Finding out the meaning of a word:

Co to znaczy? - To jest trudnie pytanie - na pewno.
Co to się mówi "zajebisty" po angielsku - ******* awesome
;Jakie to słowo będzie po polsku? - Co? - To słowo - Jakie słowo? "word" - To słowo po
polsku to 'słowo'. ;

A rather confusing affair between two students.

I learnt about the comparative and superlative forms too:

ten samochód jest lepszy, niż jego, ale tamten jest nasz najlepszy samochód
ta lampa jest dobra, ale tamta jest jeszcze gorsza
to jest nasze dobre radio, ale tu jest nasze najlepsze radio

These sentences are totally made up so if anyone has expertise please let me know if
im butchering the language.

Another welcome to the French team and best wishes for a productive 2015 with your languages! Many of us
have had great success with Assimil in the past. I look forward to following your log and progress!
